More and more pediatricians become involved in school
health every day. A
recent AAP periodic survey of pediatricians showed 22% of respondents
currently work with local school health programs, but 71% want to
increase their activity in this area.
The AAP, through the Comprehensive
School Health - Capacity and Policy (CSH-CAP) Initiative, is
committed to supporting the efforts of pediatricians to become involved
in school health. In addition to providing training and materials,
the Academy is developing a network of pediatricians who are active
and involved in school health to consult to others wishing to become
more involved.
