This presentation will discuss the present status of school health policies for the pediatrician wishing to become involved with schools. The presentation addresses resources the pediatrician can use to influence the implementation of existing policies and the design of new policies. Participants should acquire a general understanding of the many areas covered by school health and safety policies and the variety of roles for the pediatrician within the school and community.
